Psychological counselling

Have you ever found yourself in a challenging or painful situation? Or have you ever felt the need for a change but not been able to identify the direction in which you should go? Have you ever wondered: What do I really want? How am I really?

The questions I could add to this list are many, and certainly all of us, sooner or later, find ourselves asking them. Sometimes to ourselves, sometimes with the people closest to us, and sometimes we may feel the need or desire to share these questions or these more complex pieces of our path with a psychologist, a person outside our environment, who can listen to us without prejudice and without judging us.
A free, open and safe space.

Here, this is what I do in my job: accompany you for a piece of that path on which you are walking and help you to continue trying to understand what is happening inside and outside.

Talking to a mental health professional

Why ask for help, and how?

We often have a static idea of ourselves and what is around us (people, environment...) and this makes it difficult to create space for a change, for a new perspective that can unblock us or help us get out of a situation that no longer suits us.

It is not easy to ask a mental health professional for help for several reasons.
First, we need to become aware that a part of us is suffering or needs more care and attention. Suffering, the desire for confrontation, the desire to know ourselves more deeply are all part of our being human, recognising and entering into these dimensions means also taking care of ourselves.

About me

I am a psychologist and trainee psychotherapist at the Institute of Constructivist Psychology di Padova. After a little over a decade living outside my hometown, I returned to Trento, where I work as psychologist, offering individual and couples counselling, both online and in person.

Before returning to my beloved mountains, I worked as a psychologist for a few years at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), offering psychological support to students and researchers. It was definitely an enriching experience: dealing with the international community, I had the opportunity to meet and offer psychological counselling to people from all over the world. In addition to providing individual support, I was also a trainer for several group trainings, including trainings based on Mindfulness and Self-Compassion and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), as well as trainings about coping with fear of failure and blocking situations.

Before moving to Belgium, I collaborated with some cooperatives in Trentino, where I conducted sexuality and affectivity education for children and adolescents. During my postgraduate training, I trained at the Adoption Centre in Padua (ULSS6) and later in Vienna, at the psychotherapy association Ediveria.

I currently collaborate with associated psychologist practices in Trento and online with CATP (Centre d'Accompagnement Thérapeutique Pluridisciplinaire - Bruxelles).

Frequent Answered Questions

There is no fixed duration. The duration will be agreed in itinere.

Even for this question there is no magic recipe, it is however a subject that you can discuss openly with your psychologist who, should the need arise, can refer you to other professionals.

This situation is more common than you think: together we can better understand your needs and the direction of the change you want to undertake.

It depends on your needs, there is no 'better' or 'worse'. Certainly the situation we experienced during the pandemic helped us psychologists to become more familiar with online counselling, which allows, for example, people who live far away from a psychologist's practice to still access the service.

I am currently training at a constructivist school. What does that mean? This theoretical framework looks at the individual as a constructor of meaning. This allows me to adopt a perspective that I think is very respectful of the individual and of they way in which every person sees the world. Do you want to know more?
